Most of what we repair traces back to one of eight things. If you recognize your fence below, it is usually fixable without a full replacement.

Posts leaning or pushed out of line

A leaning fence is a post problem. Either the post was not set deep enough, the hole was too narrow for the concrete to grip, or water collected at the base and softened the ground around it. We can reset individual posts and pull a run back to line without tearing out the whole fence, as long as the rails and pickets are still sound.

Rotted boards and rails at the bottom

Wood fences fail from the ground up. The bottom board wicks moisture out of the soil, mulch piled against the fence traps it, and the rot spreads into the rail ends. Most South Carolina jurisdictions expect a fence to sit at least a foot or two inside the property line, and some allow you to build right on it. The safe move is to know where your pins are before anyone digs.
